About the Red Screen
Red is the longest visible wavelength, which is why it's used for both dead-pixel testing and low-glare lighting after dark. A full red fill isolates the red sub-pixel channel and makes uniformity issues easy to see.
Common uses
- Isolate the red sub-pixel to spot dead or stuck pixels that hide on white or busy backgrounds
- Check for backlight bleed, clouding, or uneven brightness across the panel
- Use as dim, low-glare light for late-night reading or moving around a dark room
- Serve as a warning or alert color for signage, presentations, or attention-grabbing overlays
- Provide a bold background for photography, thumbnails, or design mockups
Pair this with the green screen and blue screen to test every sub-pixel channel.
